IT Modernisation Services GmbH

Scenario „Extended“

The scenario contains the services from the “One-time” scenario. Additionally, an export is generated from the Njema database and imported into Neo4J. Neo4J is a system for visualizing so-called graphs, i.e., objects and their relationships.

The results include a detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis of the code:

  • Various object properties such as type, language, and pool affiliation • Type of connection with other objects, e.g., through CALL, ENTRY, EXTRN, EXEC, COPY, READ, WRITE, etc.
  • Connection hierarchies, determined through queries to Neo4J
  • Displaying accesses and types of access to files and databases
  • Qualitative code characteristics: number of jump instructions, redefinitions, RENAMES (Cobol), COPY book nesting, ODO (Cobol), Micro Focus conditional code, CALL signatures, and more.

Here, Njema outputs a graphic of a selected subset of an application.

The transferred system contains a large number of predefined queries, but also allows you to formulate your own SQL queries. ITM supports the customer with further queries to the system and with the generation of additional metadata from the Neo4J database.
